Op zich een mooi hotel, Vriendelijk personeel (hoewel Engelssprekend gezellige buitenplek om te zitten echter ondanks het bedje groen en geluidsschermen veel geluidsoverlast door de snelweg die erlangs loopt. Location: 3

This review is only for the restaurant, not the hotel/pool. As long as I can remember, my grandparents would always take us here when we visited and when we moved to the Netherlands we went for special occasions. I really do have very fond memories of the place, but the place no longer lives up to those memories. We still come here quite often with my Nan because she loves to keep up the tradition and we are all addicted to the potatoes that you get with your meal. Aside from the potatoes, which have stayed awesome throughout the years, the food isn't super interesting. It's a great place to take your grandparents as that is pretty much the crowd here; old people. So a lot on the menu is old people friendly, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it does mean a lot of fish, a lot of meat and not so many vegetarian options. That last part tends to suck because I like to pretend that I'm not there just to eat the potatoes and try to have somewhat of a balanced meal, you know, like a good girl. Also, I have my doubts that the mushroom soup they serve is really vegetarian. It tastes like some sort of meat stock to me, so I'm never going to try it again even though they assure me it's suitable for vegetarians. And I'm fairly certain that most desserts, especially with the brunch buffet and petit grand desserts, contain gelatin from animal bones, not agar agar or another substitution. So that can be tricky too. Other than all that, if you eat meat or fish, this is an okay place to come. I've always liked the interior, especially in the upstairs dining room with all the paintings of bulls on the walls. And, it's just sheer nostalgia for me.
