I spoke with the chef, who confirmed which dishes were suitable for my needs and even provided gluten-free bread. Reservations are essential, so be sure to mention any allergies when you call.
This is a fantastic restaurant that I highly recommend making a reservation for dinner. I informed them a few days before our reservation that I have celiac disease, and they spoke with the chef to ensure that the entire dinner service would be gluten-free that night. For lunch, they offer sandwiches with the option of gluten-free buns or without buns. They update the menu every few days, using fresh, local ingredients. It’s truly a great place!
The Bonton isn’t set up like a traditional restaurant where you simply order off a menu. While diners can order individual plates, I highly recommend opting for the shared platters. This way, you get to sample a wider variety of delicious dishes! Reservations are required or, at the very least, strongly encouraged (we made ours on the same day), and for good reason: the staff wants to know how much food to prepare. Since everyone orders at the same time (there are only a few seating times available), service is very swift. The Bonton makes its own cured meats, so be sure to try the charcuterie board—it’s truly exceptional! The cocktails are unique and delightful, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant is top-notch. If you find yourself in Dawson, this restaurant is a must-visit. We didn’t get a chance to try it, but I’m sure their brunch is just as delicious!
What an experience! I felt as though I was dining in a high-end restaurant you would find in any major city around the world. The menu was a feast for the senses, all set within a beautifully converted log cabin. The service was excellent, and the meal was absolutely worth the trip. Don't miss it!
The server said the portions in the menu are so ordered for the exchange, so that I ordered a meal and an appetizer to share with my friend. the meal was smaller the appetizer, how could they think that enough food to share with 2 people. it also took an hour to come for our food, other people who came later, then we got their food before us. Eat tasted great, but it wasn't worth waiting and starving forever. I'm very disappointed.
