フィードバックを提供するWe visited this restaurant for dinner last Saturday night after hearing positive reviews, but we were surprised to end up feeling quite unwell afterward. Both my dining partner and I felt sick after having our main course and dessert, so it seems like something wasn’t right. I won’t be returning here again.
Their response to joshua's downstairs review is actually wrong and defamatory. the fact that we arrived at phat mango at 18:20 a.m. for a 6:30 a.m. booking and we sat still on a main thing about 19:45 a.m. when josh asked the waitress to cancel the main thing speaks for himself. I have a decreasing back injury, go with a google and could simply not sit anymore due to severe pain that we explained this on the waitress at the time joshua the main canceled. in no case were we either standing up or aggressive against the waitress. we just wanted to cancel the main thing, pay the bill and go as my hands were shaking with pain. while we waited for the bill, Josh’s coke no sugar order arrived and after the tasting (as I,) he called the waitress over and asked if it was actually diet coke, as it tasted like the full strength koka. the waitress insisted that it was coke no sugar, and a minute or two later came back to our table with an empty dose of coke. our bill was delivered by a gentleman to the table, while the waitress with the empty can stand by coke no sugar at the table, who then started a argument about the can of coke no sugar and when we raised the question how bad service we had received, he stood over both of us sitting and argued how we might not have received bad service, as the waitress had never worked their 18 months and had never been working. the people on the table next to us commented that they had excellent service and I replied: "what a shame, we certainly had no excellent service". I paid the bill and we left.
If I could give a zero star review I would. Let's start with the wait staff to say they are terrible is the understatement our order was clarified 4 times to correct 4 times but when order came it was exactly as she had incorrectly suggested 4 times.We waited 40 minutes for a main that was supposed to come at same time as other dishes when we complained and cancelled the dish they then got another order of ours wrong.We complained about the 2nd stuff up the manager came out and started to argue what an amazing waitresses we had and how she was his best and then the nail in the coffin he allowed other diners to get in on the argument.I will say what little food we did have was of high quality it is clear that while the kitchen is producing good food the front of house let's the place down.
Sad to say that the food was bland and boring. The main portion was disappointingly small considering it was a pasta dish. Considering the amount of recommendations I've had to go here I was really let down
I dined in a party of four last week. We kicked off by sharing the crocodile tongue and kangaroo tartar. Both were delicious, but the tongue was really next level. Amazing it could be prepared to come out that tender. Props to the chef.For mains, my friends ordered two steaks and the barra. I had it on good authority to order the gnocchi. Boy did I win on that one. The salty capers, sun dried tomatoes and olives were beautifully offset by the creamy pillows of gnocchi. The other mains were great, but if you’re going, do yourself a favour and try the gnocchi. We were too full to attempt a dessert unfortunately.Will definitely be back.
