This is a lovely place to visit for a cup of coffee and to browse the wide range of garden accessories and plants. What I appreciate about this place is the tasteful removal of the old dobie structure, allowing the original building to shine through. The ground floor offers a taste of traditional Scottish architecture, while also serving as a garden center. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, even during busy times. Mainhead Farm, now operating as a garden center and restaurant, is a category B listed building with a history dating back to 1786. The architecture features one-story structures typical of North Lanarkshire and many parts of Scotland. The whitewashed rubble front has been restored to its original nude stone appearance, and the building boasts fed attic windows, a sloping roof, and Skew-Gabeln. The western area includes a two-story granary and barn, along with an octagonal horse stable. The original roof beams were replaced in 1979. Remnants of the past can still be seen within the building, adding to its historical charm.
Food Delicious. Service was what lost the star. Two of us asked for our coffees to be delivered with the meal and one before. The wrong person received their coffee before the meal, and the other two were almost finished eating before coffee arrived.
Excellent customer service. Kudos to you ladies at the front desk. Asked for specific plants and readily observed what was to be delivered. Plants ordered in good condition. Delivery was a nominal sum. I overall a great place to visit that has so much to offer
Visited for lunch at the restaurant. The food was great and reasonably priced. The waiting staff are fabulous, really attentive and greet you with a smile, can't ask for more !
