I was recommended the Plato Libanés which is a variety of salads, hummus, falafel rice and stuffed grape leaves, served with wonderful freshly baked pita bread. It could easily be shared between two people, especially if you ordered a beverage and dessert. It has an elegant atmosphere in a wonderful historic building and the service is very good.
Let me absolutely recommend you this restaurant! You will find here great food and excellent profesional service. It is located in old downtown, in an area where there are no tourist attractions, but intense commercial activity where everyday life is more authentic. Clients are locals...and Lebanese community. Food is delicious and portions are generous. If you don't feel safe in crowded places/areas, it will be better to think in other options.

Hidden jewel in the center of Mexico City or Zócalo. This traditional Lebanese restaurant has a meaty menu, but there is also a fair piece of vegan options that are fresh and absolutely delicious. I'll start with the babaganoush because it's by far the best I had. The smokey eggplant taste and the cream they reach is simply sublime. I highly recommend it with some of the warm, freshly baked Pita bread. Some of the other great vegan options are hummus, tabouleh salad, rice with lentils, rice with noodles, and filled grape leaves. I also recommend her fresh cucumber mint water - it is very refreshing.
