Simple La Cruz - CRUZ DE HUANACAXTLE

Friends arranged for a group of us to spend silvester at simple. reservations were made and meals were ordered days in advance. Although eating decent, it would be difficult to imagine that the service could be worse. We've never been able to get our dinner until midnight. some nearby tables were waiting for their food at 12:45! Do not waste your time. instead go to tacos on the road in the same village.

We were impressed. six people sat for a friend's birthday. the wait personal friendly and had good English as well as in the position to explain menu points. we all enjoyed our meals of parmesan chicken, seafood fattyuccine, filled cannelloni and capprese salat. our only disappointment was that our meals were not very hot. a part of it could be the cool evening and we sat outside

We were ready for a beautiful 7 unzen ribeye steak and it turned out to be something completely different. if they have ever bought food from the dollar store in the usa, the meal on a par. they do not think we are going.

We stopped in for dinner at Simple. It opened in the space formerly occupied by another restaurant, Xocohtl. First off the view is nice as it sits up on a hill from the waterfront. You can see across the bay to Puerto Vallarta and other...locales in the area. The entrees ranged from seafood to pork and steak with pasta dishes and salads as alternatives. Our family party of 7 had shrimp, pork chops and mahi mahi served with sides of vegetables. The presentation was beautiful and the food was mostly average. No one disliked their meals but no one raved about it either. So, a nice night for a decent value with a great view.

The view is nice, but that is about all you can say for this restaurant. The staff was eager, but inexperienced, and it took 1.5 hrs to get our food. Even then, some of servings were cold, and overall very disappointing. Thank goodness they had expensive Chardonnay to keep our spirits up, so to speak. No one in our group of 8 will be returning. And it is sad, as this could be a lovely venue.
