Libertine was a great spot for a nice Italian dinner. The bacon wrapped scallops were delicious. Sangiovese for $45 is a great option for dry, red wine drinkers. Espresso martini priced on the higher end $19), nothing special about it. Love the cocoa rim. Overall, great vibes as a restaurant. Staff were very nice and accommodating.
In a neighborhood noted for good food, the competition can be tough. This restaurant was pretty mediocre. The atmosphere was cold, and felt more like a take out place. Food was just okay. Steak was tough and not particularly flavorful. The bolognese sauce was bland; not much flavor. Good selection of wines. On the upside, the staff couldn't have been nicer.
Good food and service. So loud though! Loud talking but also very loud music blaring. Made it really difficult to talk and to enjoy the dinner
We visited Libertine for the first time Saturday night before a concert at the Garden. It was a short walk away which was so convenient. As a Portuguese family, the Portuguese menu items caught our eye. Great mix of Italian and Portuguese cuisine. There was something for everyone, including my picky kids. Food was delicious, and the service was outstanding. Our waiter, Carlos, was so attentive and friendly. The owner made sure our food came out in a timely manner so we could catch our show. Great experience...we will be back for sure!
