Finally, I hollered out "Excuse Me". Out came a lady, never once looking up or acknowledging our presence in any way. No apology for not being there when we arrived, that's for sure. She proceeded to the end of the serving counter where she put on a pair of rubber gloves and readied a paper to place my expectant order on. It was only then that she lifted her head slightly in our direction (finally, somewhat acknowledging our presence) while she said "Can I help you". I replied "I understand that Subway now has gluten free buns, and I would like one". She replied "Some do. We don't. My boss doesn't want to spend $50.00 on a box of buns". I replied "I'm a Celiac, so I guess we'll go somewhere else then". She said Okay (with no apology of any kind) and away we went - on to Plan B.
Normally I'm not a Subway customer, but if you want good healthy food quickly and at a good price this is the best place in Creston! (and they DO have pickles and onions)!
SUBWAY is the only place in Creston where I found a great salad that you can build yourself from all fresh ingredients.
You can see calories for each sandwich., You can choose your bread meat, vegetables. Add soup , drinkscookies or chips.
How does a place like this not have pickles or onions? It's not like they have an extensive menu. Plus, the one guy working there wasn't really apologetic. An old couple eating comprised the only clientele. Kind of a sad place. The premises across the street was way more happenin'.
