Good food, can't say great. The service took a long time. I wish they would give you bread or cheese or something while you wait for the food. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
Nice romantic ambience except they could not light the fireplace because it was not serviced yet which would have been nice), Excellent service from the hostess to our waitress Dessert is Amazing! The person making their desserts is Awesome she is 5 star ! Food Filet and Chicken were very good, steak sandwich not so great. They also apparently lost one of their good bartenders who used to make the best seasonal pumpkin martinis We missed those drinks . Overall very cute place
To start: we have been to this restaurant before and loved it. To be fair, we were a party of 9 it was my fathers birthday. but never before have i experienced such lousy service. our waiter was horrible (was it because he knew he was getting a 20% tip no matter what? it took 20min for our drink order and then we had to keep waving him down for another. the food took a very long time (we were a big party but it all came out cold. I had a cold filet, but hot baked potato? my sister had a cold crab cake who wants cold fish? the waiter did not check in with us, we had to keep asking other servers to find him. SO SO disappointed i wanted this to be a great meal and the server ruined it. we ended being there for 3.5 hours! he did not deserve the automatic 20% gratuity that was incorporated into our check.
I'm hoping this was a one-off situation. I have been to Frogtown multiple times and up until my recent experience would have given them five stars. Dined with friends who all got burgers, they were satisfied. I got the Chicken Pesto and it was thin and dry, laden with cheese and still completely tasteless. Service was meh, nice enough staff, but not attentive to our table. Plates came out at different times with one diner waiting until the rest of us were half-way through our meal before hers arrived. One diner could not eat her side dish it was so overwhelmed with garlic. From the bar, one was over poured, one went back as not drinkable. Key lime pie was tasty, but not chilled, as though it had been sitting out for a while. Very disappointed as I always look forward to eating there...it seemed like the whole place was off it's game and for their reputation and prices, much more is expected.
