If you're unsure about what to order as a starter, I highly recommend the sampler. It includes an excellent selection of crispy appetizers: vegetable samosas, lentil donuts, and pakoras. All their tandoori meats are juicy and not overcooked like so many others. I particularly recommend the subtly fragrant tandoori salmon paired with baingan bharta (smoky roasted eggplant) and crispy okra fry. The Sunday lunch buffet is a joy to behold—it's visually appealing, aromatic, and brimming with flavors. The selection is a wonderful journey through Indian spices from north to south, featuring some items that you won't find on the regular menu. I especially enjoyed the idli sambhar, mixed vegetables (dry curry), sweet korma, chicken fingers (served with chutney), and mutton curry. Instead of rice, they serve charred naan and desi fryums, perfect for scooping up the curries. Overall, this is simply the best Indian buffet I've had in a long time.
Tamarind is a laid-back Indian restaurant with a diverse menu featuring a wide variety of appetizing starters, main dishes, desserts, and beverages. The prices are quite reasonable. Two staff members provided us with prompt and friendly service. We really enjoyed the flavors of the Samosa Chaat, Malai Kofta, Butter Chicken, and Naan, although we found the Chicken Sangrila to be just average in taste. I would definitely return to this restaurant in the future to try more of their offerings.
The curry had generous pieces of chickpeas and wasn’t overly oily. The toppings, which included cilantro and onions, added a nice touch, though I’m not particularly fond of onions. The portion of curry was a bit small, but the bhatura bread was quite large and indeed very puffy, just as described. Some parts of the curry were a bit oily, while others were crispy, which I thought was a perfect balance. It tasted even better when warmed up, as the flavorful oil and salt became more pronounced, giving it a delightful crispy texture. For dessert, I usually lean towards gulab jamun, but I’ve heard the tamarind gulab jamuns aren’t worth their price and are quite small. The kheer, however, was a good size for the price—not too small, not too big. It was rich, creamy, and pleasantly sweet, with plenty of nuts like cashews and raisins, along with some other juicy fruits mixed in. Overall, Tamarind is definitely on my radar in Cranberry. The food is reasonably priced and high quality. While I haven’t tried many dishes yet, I can confidently say it’s a solid restaurant that I would recommend.
They're about 1 hour to eat here. beautiful that they open early, that is 4pm. tried tandoori roti, chettinad hn, hyderabads dum biryani and reispudding. roti and chettinad were up. biryani was ok. service was good. I wanted to eat pineapple cake, but she didn't. the environment was also good.
I ordered takeout and got the butter chicken, gobi manchurian, and garlic naan. It was all delicious! The portion size allowed me to have leftovers. The staff was really friendly upon pickup.
