Ethiopian cuisine is one of my favorites, but finding good places to enjoy it is elusive. I went with a party of three and was the only vegetarian. Meat and non-meat dishes were served on the same platter, and I share responsibility for that mistake. It was hard to identify what was what. Some of the dishes were flavorful, others not so much. We had plenty to eat, but I have experienced better Ethiopian food in Washington, DC and the East Bay of California. The place had one other party that was getting most of the attention from wait staff. Granted, it was a big party, but it took a while to get their attention and to be served.
Doesn't look like much when you walk past this lovely pop up soup shop. When it's not snowball season, this small business is bursting with flavorful soups. Every soup that I have tried is full of flavor. I really enjoy their 3 flight soup option too.The one thing that I ordered here that was not my cup of tea was their hot chocolate. Now, if you love a nice good dark cup of chocolate, you may love it, but It was just too rich for my tastebuds, even with the lovely swirl of whipped cream and sprinkles on top.Lovely people working the shop and super friendly staff. Parking could be a hassle as it is located on Magazine street. Don't let the crowded streets overwhelm you, it's definitely worth parking down the street if need be.
OMG!! Please try their chicken rice soup! I've never tasted such delicious and satisfying soup. A friend recommended that one. My memories of chicken rice are watery gross. Not this one! It was packed with shredded chicken and the broth was so good!! I will not be buying Whole Foods soup while the Soup Garden is open (cold months). I also tried their Thai curry carrot and Butternut squash soups. Incredibly delicious! I got the 3 soup flight for $15. I know the 8oz size at Whole Foods is $10. I'm going back tomorrow for more and to try their drinks. Can't wait! Soup is on! Thank you Soup Garden!!
Best grilled cheese I’ve had outside of Mamaw’s house, and the tomato basil soup was dang good too.
