Even rice and beans were weird. $34 USD for this tiny inedible share plate and two beers. Cheap for US but expensive for Mexico.
I was in Cozumel looking for a scene location for my novel, Jamaican Farewell. The place needed to be in San Miguel, close to the pier, and it also had to be on the second floor with a picturesque view of the street, the cruise ships, and the ocean. Toro 's Place fit the bill perfectly, so I stopped in for a drink and some nachos. I was sold on the restaurant and ended up using it in the novel along with my waiter, Santiago.
Food is OK., good location to watch sunset, but the prices are about 50% higher for tourists than on the Spanish menu.
Went here on the advise of a tour operator. Only got two bottles of water and beef tacos to share. Tacos were small and bland and cost 8 dollars and the water was 2 dollars each. I handed the waiter 20 dollars and he handed me back 34 pesos (roughly 2 dollars). I was wondering why I only got that much change and after asking him he told me he made a mistake. It was only then that he told me about the compulsory 20% service charge as well. Very below average food which was overpriced and dishonest staff. Avoid
We were recommended to go here by our dive boat captain (turns out to be a racket)Average local food at an above average price. The waiter brought us "an appetizer" that consisted of a tablespoon of pico de gallo with 7 chips. The portion size seemed a bit small compared to other establishments. Be careful, they claimed their credit card machine was not working AFTER we ate and luckily we had US dollars to pay AND they add a 20% service charge which they took off after I questioned it. I ended up not tipping because of this shady tactic. I do not recommend this place in Cozumel.
