I have always loved the Pavilion and tend to come here for ‘special’ lunches and dinners as it is a bit of a trek out and a bit more expensive than other Chinese venues. The food is usually excellent and portion sizes good. However, the last couple of lunch time visits have been a bit disappointing and the prices have risen which is a universal problem in all venues following Covid and Brexit nonsense. It is hard to put a finger on exactly what it is but there is definitely something lacking. The most noticeable thing for me was the hot and sour soup: that just does not taste the way it used to : The service is always good and the surroundings are good but I will not be rushing back :

Celebrating a good friend’s birthday, table booked for 8. Table service staff were young and friendly. We chose the luncheon menu and all food was tasty, hot and there was plenty of it. Very busy restaurant but we never felt rushed.

Thanks Kathy for an unbelievable service the food was as good as it was twenty years ago!! Superb quality and will be back soon! All round just superb!
