A proper old school pub with log fires, cheap beers and snacks, no music TV or gambling machines. Well worth a trip in order to escape the commercialism of lots of other Durham pubs.
Great little pub on the edge of Durham City. Traditional decor with old wooden floors etc and a cracking open fire. Sam Smiths beer, which is one of my all time favourites. Friendly staff, friendly customers, great surroundings and delicious beer. What more can you ask for?
Excellent pub with a friendly atmosphere and offering great value for all drinks. A really good pub that plays to it's strengths.
This is a lovely pub situated a short walk out of Durham City centre. It's a Sam Smith's place which has recently been refurbished to be good standard, it is clean and in winter has real fires going. The prices are decent as ever with Sam Smith's and there is usually a mix of locals and students and has a relaxed atmosphere. They don't do food. Overall definatly worth making the trip up the hill for a visit.
