They serve the best beef sandwich and ribs you can find. I always make sure to grab a jar of their BBQ sauce to take home. It truly remains a family affair.
I first visited Russell's in 1966, and it became my go-to spot for barbecue. The quality was on par with some of the best barbecue I’ve had in Virginia, Missouri, and Texas. They used to season and smoke the meat perfectly. However, the old owner sold the restaurant, and under the new ownership, while they still have the sauce, it seems like they no longer add seasoning and may not even smoke the meat. I am really disappointed with their barbecue now.
I'm really disappointed. This used to be our favorite spot for great food when I was growing up, and there was always a line outside. It wasn't southern BBQ, but the BBQ beef was excellent. They've changed something that didn't need fixing.
Great environment to celebrate my birthday with family. The food was spectacular, I had the brisket with sweet potato and green beans it was delicious!
Had the 2 Meat combo today.. the pulled chicken was dry.. the brisket was tender... but both were bland.. the BBQ Sauce that the meat was embedded in was bland. the bottle they sent out was bland. The Mac and Cheese was run of the mill velveeta style the Potato salad needed salt. It's pretty bad to think , but everything needed some flavor or spice. On a side note- the place was very clean and inviting. Too bad the food is so boring.
