Barley Forge Brewing - Costa Mesa

It seemed to be a local hotspot and was overrun with people on a Saturday night. Had a nice selection of beer and a good mood. The orange curtain IPA enjoyed well.

I am here several times (different days at different times). The beers are exactly what they say they are and well done. The food is the star. I have eaten everything from German sausage to lamb slides to BLAT. Even in the evenings it will be crowded on Tuesday, but the staff is the best and really deserves a lot of credit. You also have a great root beer for the DD/Kids.

Bison burger paired with The Patsy... Happy : Their Double IPA is very good too. The jazz band last thursday night was great.

The reason I am giving this a one star review is because their food is good. My wife and I visited this brewery a few days ago and was displeased with how long it took to even order. Not realizing that their beers come in a really small glass because it 's not on the menu and the server poured roughly two inches of head, my wife calmly went up to see if she could get a different beer that comes in a whole pint. The older woman that helped her decided to belittle, lecture, as well as question my wife about how no other craft breweries show on the menus about the sizes of glasses they come in, in an attempt to make my wife feel stupid. I sincerely hope that you do not treat all of your customers like this. Also, here are some pictures of other craft breweries menus.

Only HAD to make the hike to Costa Mesa from Burbank with some peeps and visit this soon closed brewery. On October 31, Barley Forge closes her doors and people, the beer world will simply not be the same. Come down and enjoy legendary brewery while you can!
