フィードバックを提供するOur review rating is low due to several reasons… Hospitality was questionable because the hostesses were clearly not having a good day! Their response to our comment that we were meeting people and just needed to know if our friends had arrived was abrupt in tone and wording…we were told that they were certain our friends were not in the restaurant even tho’ they had not even asked our names…they said only one person was allowed to go and check in the restaurant so I said okay and went to look…upon not finding our friends the one hostess said to me…I told you so with a sneer in her voice and facial expression This was rude treatment and upsetting…we were then told in loud and angry tones to go and wait on the deck to be called…we hadn’t been to the Berry farm in many years as we live out of province so we didn’t know their new protocols…this was surprising…we had not been treated this way is the past. I’m sure this is not the greeting and welcome to Saskatoon the owners of the Berry barn would like to portray!! A refresher in Customer service is probably in order for the hostesses in particular!! It’s not a good idea to bring one’s personal ‘bad day and problems’ to work. Everyone of us are an individual requiring respect and explanation! No one in our group was rude or nasty in any way to these hostesses…we just asked a question! I also suggest a revamping of the menu to include more gluten free options and education for the servers so they can give accurate advice to patrons for how to modify a dish so that it may be ordered…EG. the pie fillings are gluten free but the server did not realize this to offer as a gluten free dessert instead of pie…she indicated there was nothing gluten free. It is unlikely I will visit the Berry barn again because of their limited Gluten free options and the really unpleasant customer service by the hostesses.
Great visit, took some fun pics, walked along the river a bit, and of course had a bit of lunch and PIE! Food was pretty good (mushroom soup, borscht and a cabbage roll in our group), but pie in particular was very tasty. Would come back!
We love the Berry Barn, the grounds greenhouse are so amazing to wonder through. If you go the right time of the year you can pick your own Saskatoon berries!! So delicious!! The restaurant gift shop are very interesting. Food is sooo good!! The gluten free waffles are awesome! And so is their gf bread.,
Visited for a quick stop out of Saskatoon. The Berry Barn sells Saskatoon berry products. I picked up berry mousse filled cannoli, rhubarb/Saskatoon berry crisp, and Saskatoon berry pie. These were all berry berry delicious. They also sell berry perogies, waffles, pancakes, berry champagne, syrup, vinaigrette, etc. There is a cafe that overlooks the river which serves cabbage rolls, pirogies, borscht. There is also a garden shop to buy plants from.
Home-cooked meal in a beautiful setting. We took our daughter and the kids menu was very accessible. Lots of choice on the regular menu but we opted for the perogy and meatballs and the burger (both excellent) and of course, had to finish with a slice of Saskatoon berry pie! Yum!
