Breens Lobster - Cork

Our bed and breakfast host recommended this restaurant to us. We arrived at 6pm and were warmly welcomed. The atmosphere was bright and welcoming, and the staff were very friendly. Both of us decided to order the crabmeat au gratin, as we were in a fishing town and hoped it would be good. It was absolutely delicious, served with vegetables and potatoes. We highly recommend this restaurant, especially since it's located in the square with a great overall atmosphere.

On a calm Thursday evening in the city, this restaurant was bustling with activity. After making a reservation, we had a drink across the street before our table was ready. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated and served without delay. The Crab Gratin and Fish Pie that we ordered were both delicious. I highly suggest trying them out.

We had the opportunity to dine at Breen's Lobster Bar Restaurant every night while staying nearby, and we were impressed by the delicious seafood menu. The dishes were cooked to perfection, presented beautifully, and reasonably priced. The quality of the food was exceptional, as the fish was sourced from the nearby harbour. Every item we ordered was excellent, and we were delighted by the hospitality of Mary and Fidelma, who made us feel welcome and took care of us. Booking ahead is recommended due to the restaurant's popularity, and Covid restrictions were strictly adhered to. We highly recommend dining at Breen's Lobster Bar Restaurant and look forward to our next visit in the near future.

This restaurant is fantastic. The catch of the day was scrumptious. The staff were incredibly friendly and invited us in out of the rain when a table became available.

Absolutely amazing place run by great staff who are efficient and extremely friendly and funny. We made the mistake of not booking ahead but they very generously squeezed us in and we sat up at the counter of the bar which did not bother us at all and made for an even more fun experience. They were completely booked up and it’s easy to see why. The food was quick to arrive and extremely high quality. I had the spicy calamari which was delicious and served with a portion of crunchy and tasty fries and a super salad which gave me some great ideas for flavour combinations as it had melon, apple, radish and beetroot along with the usual tomato, lettuce etc and was dressed with a zingy dill dressing. I would never have combined all those ingredients but it really does work. My husband had the hake which was so light and flaky and tasty. The portions were generous so we didn’t have room for dessert but they looked great too. Had the perfect pint of Murphy’s too. All in all a fantastic experience and the staff were tremendous. My advice would be to book though! It’s very popular. It’s also cash only so make sure you take cash.
