The wait wasn 't terrible, but there 's some organizational issues. We were finally seated at a sticky end booth, with small plastic cups (think Dixie cup) for our water and a roll of (DIRTY) paper towels to serve as napkins. I didn 't even want to think about the bare silverware on that sticky table, but I was starving. The menu options weren 't terrible, I 'll give them that I ordered a burger, some coleslaw, and some mac and cheese. The burger came with cheese (and the menu stated that there were several types of cheese to choose from), but the waitress never asked what kind I wanted on my burger. Afraid that she was going to put American cheese on it, I managed to snag the attention of a different waitress to tell her so she could hopefully get it fixed before the burger was done. My point being the waitress should have asked what kind of cheese I wanted, instead of saying yeah, if you don 't tell us otherwise, we use American . Speaking of the hamburger, the waitress did ask how I wanted it cooked, to which I told her I wanted it medium rare. She then told me that they don 't cook burgers any cooler than medium... are you kidding me? I 'm a paying customer and you 're not going to cook my burger the way I want it? What 's going on in your kitchen that you can 't cook a medium rare hamburger? Has me thinking it 's a raw meat/food safety issue. As for the coleslaw, it 's not your average barbecue coleslaw (i.e. with mayonnaise) it 's the type that 's made with vinegar. Doesn 't specify that anywhere on the menu. And it wasn 't even good vinegar coleslaw, so there 's that. The mac and cheese (served classily in a disposable paper dish) was probably the best part of my meal, and it tasted like the kind of mac and cheese you 'd find in the fridge section of your grocery store. There are plenty of other places in and around the Cooperstown area don 't waste your time or money here (I recommend the Blue Mingo, if you 're looking).
Not good at all . If you just go for a drink that is ok but For BBQ? You got the wrong place to go . We went for lunch restaurant was not much people at all. But we still waiting for about 40+more mins to be seated. And of course there are more people been waiting than the seated. Even with a lots table was empty. The bbq was not call BBQ . We ordered the sampler of the BBQ. Nothing good at all . It was away too dry. Chicken was no taste at all and dry outs ribs dry and not meaty either. I think they need to send the chiefs to go learn how to cook the bbq in Texas . Lol . One star was for the over all the restaurant looks . It is in nice location since we come for baseball game week. And the waiter was good for our table.
Ate here with our baseball team. The staff did a great job accommodating 30+ people. Food is okay: Kids ribs were dry. Half chicken was good. Ribeye was fatty, but isn't it supposed to be?! Corn needed butter and salt. Salad was fresh. Sweet potato fries were delicious.
We only ordered take out so I cannot comment on the service. I had the ribeye steak and while it was cooked the way I asked for it, 1/4 of it was fat. When you order a 12 oz steak you don't expect there to be 3 oz of fat. It also didn't have any real flavor. Someone else in my party ordered the pulled pork which tasted pretty good, but the bun was more like a hamburger bun than a sandwich roll. Everything is served a la cart, so we ordered fries with it. We got three orders of fries, two of which looks like actual potatoes that have been cut into fries. But the third order looked like previously frozen fries with a coating on them. Also when you're paying $5 for an order of fries you expect more than a small side order you would get with a burger at a diner. Overall I would not recommend this place.
Came here with a party of 20. The system of ordering/paying at the counter is fine, especially if you call ahead and reserve your tables. The service was ok, they forgot a number of items and had to track them down to get them. This alone would not warrant two stars, but the food was not very good. The ribs had no flavor, the pulled pork was worse and the burger was barely ok. With so many places to chose from in the area, I would recommend bypassing this place.
