Grandma's Pancake House - Cookeville

I ordered the western omelette with salsa at this restaurant and it was absolutely delicious! I haven't had something this good in a while!

The restaurant was lovely, all our dishes were delicious, the service was excellent, and I'm looking forward to returning. It's now my go-to spot for breakfast.

Hidden gem. We were in the rough area and traveled a little bit to go to Grandma's Kitchen after seeing the reviews. The outside is a bit unassuming. I expected a typical greasy spoon diner, but was pleasantly surprised. I ordered a Santa Fe Omelette, and the rest of my family ordered strawberry crepes. It's HARD to find decent crepes up in NW Ohio where we are from. These were good, though the strawberry sauce had a flavor in it we thought was off and found hard to get past. Could have just been that batch. However, I finished the crepes for one of my kids and I'm not a crepes person whatsoever. It was good, even though I wouldn't order it myself. My omelette on the other hand was spectacular. The outside came what looked to be a little over done. Nope, it was perfect. A bit firm on the outside and slightly soft, but not yolky or runny on the inside. It was soft and creamy, and honestly just right. My wife ended up eating half of it with her crepes. I would absolutely return, next time we make it down that way. My only came with pancakes, which were decent with just the whipped butter, and I shared an order of potato pancakes with my son. Those are also hard to find good potato pancakes where we are from. These were VERY good. Someone in their kitchen absolutely knows what they are doing. Keep up the good work!

The service and food just isn't as good as it once was. Makes me sad.
