Eucalyptus Pastelaria - Comporta

I live near Comporta and have regularly visited this café. I have given this cafe a glowing review in the past and called it my favorite place in Comporta. So my recent experience was very disappointing and shocking. I ordered an egg shell that took a long time to arrive. My husband had served the sandwich he had ordered 15 minutes before my arrival. I saw the eggs look quite raw, but thought if the rest of the food was hot, I could stir the eggs and partly cook myself. However, the court was hardly warm, so that this would not work. I called the waitress and asked if they could fill the dish under a grill or in an over for a few minutes. I cook for over 40 years of food and I like soft eggs and eat many raw fish etc., but this very young girl argued with me that the eggs were already cooked. I said, OK, but I want them to cook a little more. She took the dish back to the kitchen, returned and said....NO, they didn't want to cook the eggs further because they were already cooked. I traveled all over the world, but I have never experienced such an attitude! As if it wasn't bad enough, she tried to convince me that I was wrong and the eggs were already cooked. I tried to come to her that it was no matter whether they were cooked or not, the person she had paid and had asked that they were cooked a little longer! Such a terrible attitude to the customer! We'll never go there again!

We ate here for breakfast several times since our hotel didn't include it. The make their own fresh orange juice which is delicious. The toasts and coffee are very tasty as well. They don't speak English but we were able to manage by learning a...few words in Portuguese.

A great little place with indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of pastries and savoury type snacks to choose from including top sandwiches. Free Wi-Fi and Jazz music playing in the background. Not expensive and very convenient. Open all year.

Na Comporta é o local aonde tomo sempre o pequeno almoço, com variedade de escolha e simpático, sem aquela confusão de outros locais.

Ótimas tostas em pão alentejano! Esplanada agradável para ir depois da Praia. Os doces regionais tinham ótimo aspeto.
