If he’s reading this, thank you for the wonderful experience! The food was excellent—I ordered the Brisket Quesabirria Tacos. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable meal.
When I asked about the prices, the staff reiterated the sizes I requested as if they could actually be considered large. I genuinely don’t mind paying a fair price for good food; however, I must remind you that if you eat inside, you get unlimited chips and salsa for free. I specifically came here because I have a head cold, and the spicy salsa helps clear my sinuses (I do eat spicy snacks like Takis, so I can handle the heat). Unfortunately, the chips were neither fresh nor crispy; they were quite crunchy and seemed a bit stale. The food was salty but decent enough that I might consider returning, although the customer service has been lacking on several occasions. On my first visit, I stood waiting for my order for about five minutes while the waiter chatted with two guys in the waiting area. When she finally got to the register, she tried to continue their conversation and help them first, even though they were already finished dining. Thankfully, one of the gentlemen allowed me to go ahead, but then I ended up waiting another 10 minutes for my food, even though I arrived at the time I was told. During my wait, the waiter and the gentleman discussed his relationship and his reasons for deciding against marriage, so I was left standing there for quite some time. I've encountered the same tall woman with the slicked-back ponytail every time I've visited. If you're looking for a place that offers a meal with a side of entertainment but not much in terms of service, this might be the place for you.
Jonathan was an excellent server! The food was average, and the portions were smaller than what you typically find at most Mexican restaurants. Additionally, they charge $2.50 for each bowl of chips after the first one.
I ate here with my sister for dinner. To start, they give you one round of chips and salsa. After that they charge you. The chips were cold and unsalted. Never heard that before from a Mexican restaurant. Then we ordered the corn eloté to share. Itwas $5. It was one ear of corn. $5 for one piece of corn seems kind of steep. Their prices are on the high side all over themenu for what they offer. The flavor of the food was decent, but nothing compared to any other generic Mexican restaurant. 10/10don?t recommend. Will go elsewhere next time for the same or better food and better prices. Save yourself some money anddisappointment. One ear of corn and one small bowl of shrimp cocktail. $30. Not. Worth. It.
I was pleasantly surprised. Especially after reading some of the negative posts. I live just a few miles from the Texas/Mexico Border and am in Commerce on business. The service was fine, the attitude was cordial, the meal was very similar to what I amused to with the heat turned down for the general U.S. taste. I would go back.
