I witnessed an unfortunate interaction with a customer during one visit. A person with teenagers asked for a drink that was unavailable, and he complained that they couldn’t make one for him. The employee, maintaining a smile, kindly inquired if she could assist them with anything else. The customer then sighed and placed his order. Once his drink was made, he claimed it was wrong—though I heard the order correctly—and he left in a huff, leaving his kids to collect the rest of the order inside. The children looked embarrassed, while the staff remained polite. This situation reflects not on the employees, but on a few unruly customers. I’ve also encountered good customers who recognize that food service can be tough and that everyone has off days. The staff are just like the rest of us, juggling families, pets, and bills. Many people have experienced similar jobs or have children who are in service positions. So, the next time you feel frustrated with someone at the drive-thru or counter, remember that they are doing their best, just like you. Let’s all strive to be kind and understanding—we’re all in this together, making life a little easier for one another.
During my travels, I had low expectations because the Dunkin' in my city isn't very good. However, the coffee and food were both excellent, and I was impressed by how hard the staff was working! I might just find myself driving 4 hours to visit this Dunkin’ again, haha!
