フィードバックを提供するAfter the poor experience at the nearby Brauhaus, I decided to go for Turkish food the next day. This place is slightly away from the market streets and I've always believed that, no matter where you go, the side street places have the best food. lol I was glad to be right. I was served a huge portion of bread with flavorful sauces and the lamb dish was delicious...so much that I ordered the same thing the following day before I left. :) The staff were great and friendly and I'll be happy to visit again next time I'm in Cologne.
We are in Cologne for exhibition and never fail to visit this restaurant when we dine with friends requiring halal food. There is an open Grill right at the entrance with a variety of meat for us to choose. The decor of the restaurant appears old and gaudy. Cutleries were placed individually in paper packs. There is also an interesting display pot of flowing ayran. I ordered the ayran and the waiter suggested an assortment of grilled dishes for us. The fresh bread was nice with yogurt dips. The grilled platters consisted of kebab, lamb chops, lamb cutlets, chicken skewers and rice. There was no beef or fish. I especially love the tender lamb and chicken. But the lamb cutlet was rather tough. Oh and the mushroom skewer was amazing, moist and tender and not dry. Usually grilled mushrooms can get too dry. The grilled green chili was spicy but great too. Overall a superb dinner with many bottles of coke, a couple of ayran and tea for all. Dinner cost 150.00 for 7 pax which is pretty reasonable.
We were there on Sunday for lunch. The food was, got Chicken n Lamb, okay and price was fair too. They should pay more care to the hygiene. We know pretty much of the cafes/restaurants in Weidengasse...
Along with many other restaurants near east and middle east, located on this block, all see the aromas of delicious spices that fill the air and penetrate their nasen holes, oz urfali is a beautiful restaurant choice to eat. through the big glass...window, with the front door open beckoning them to come, kabobs, huh, baby lamb hacks and more roasts over red hot coals, aromatic clouds of seasoned air rise out the coals, and now they enter. a very warm greeting and they sit. this is not a chic restaurant, but it is an excellent and very local tasty restaurant. the salads are fresh and tasty and the mixed grill plate for two is beautiful, big tasty and also delicious. menus are not in English, but there are photos, and their eyes and nasen holes help them to meet their selection and some nice waiters speak very good English.
Oz urfali serves beautiful Turkish cuisine. we have many favorites here and make a point to come back every time we're in a car. we love the grill of meat and vegetables. the mushroom is so delicious and juicy. we are also served with...Turkish flat brot and a lot of dives. the only problem we have is that we in the rule over order and not end our meal. the Turkish tee is a small glass is the perfect way to finish our dinner. service is very good and friendly.
