Down To Earth Noodles - Cologne

Beautiful small shop with cozy seating in the window front and co. The menu is super reduced, which in my opinion speaks for the quality of food. I had the vegan momos and I thought I had to order 7... the size would have been 5 despite that I had no lunch before. The Kombucha was super tasty just like homemade. The service was friendly and accommodating. Generally a very relaxed and cozy vibe. Absolute recommendation P.S.: Reserves a place before!

Since I live really close to this place I wanted to go for a long time and now I finally did. The menu is pretty small and has one vegan option for dumplings as it has one for the soup. So obviously I got both. The dumplings are a little expensive but they are BIG. The filling was so good, we loved it. For the soup you can have big or small noodles, the big ones are 1 Euro more but honestly I liked the small ones better. The broth was delicious and well seasoned. The portion size was enough to leave you filled up and happy. Only downside: we had to wait a LONG time for the food. The place was really packed though. I would also recommend to make a reservation before coming. #Veganuary

Pleasantly short menu with straight forward vegan choices. Not much to think about, no regrets to fear. The food is amazing. Three vegan dessert options that haven't made it into the menu yet. No alcohol yet. Excellent music.

Das Beste was es auf der Karte gab, war der Wasabi Kartoffelsalat, der ist eine 10 von 10. Die Suppe ist lecker aber die Zutaten sind viel zu grob geschnitten. Die Brühe der Suppe ist super aber die Nudeln sind etwas zu dick und der Tofu war mir zu weich und roh/simpel ich hätte mir lieber festes, fluffiges Tofu gewünscht. Die Momos selbst bestehen scheinbar aus dem selben Teig wie die Nudeln, der auch für die Momos etwas zu dick ist. Die Füllung der veganen Momos ist OK aber haut einen nicht wirklich um. Man wird satt von den Momos aber würde sie nicht nochmal bestellen, weil die mir zu langweilig sind. Mein Partner hatte Momos mit Lamm, die ihm leider gar nicht gefallen haben. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und die Atmosphäre im Raum mit der Bar ist sehr angenehm.

Ich habe noch keine Restaurant in Deutschland erlebt in denen solch scharfe Speisen nicht auf der Karte ausgewiesen werden, während der Service dies bei einer Beanstandung damit begründet, dass asiatische Speisen ja generell scharf sind. Das habe ich in Japan oder Vietnam nicht so empfunden, also ist es wohl nur eine Standard Antwort die dort gebracht wird. Es gab kein entgegen kommen obwohl ich meine Nudeln nach einem Bissen aufgrund der Schärfe (Chiliöl wurde darüber verteilt) nicht weiter essen konnte. Die Momos hatten das Potenzial besser zu sein, zumal das Chili Öl dort separat serviert wurde. Allerdings waren diese im Bezug auf die Füllung eher ein pfeffriger fleischknödel ohne weitere Komplexität. Wir hatten uns in der Gruppe mehr erhofft und können das Lokal nicht weiterempfehlen.
