Mamacita's - Cold Lake

My daughter and I stopped in for lunch today. We both had the Papusa plate. Everything was delightful including our host/server. Very authentic Latin taste to the fare. We will definitely be returning. Gracias.

I stopped by for dinner tonight after receiving a recommendation from military friends. Restaurant is easy to find, plenty of parking. I immediately was greeted by the owner and sat. She brought the menu, took drink order and made me aware of the Tuesday specials. The soup came out, it was excellent, tasty, large portion and full of flavor. Then I order a guacamole and quesadilla entree. The portions were large, rice and bean tasty and fresh and the quesadilla was large, tasty and fresh. I really enjoyed the visit, and will return again whenever in town. I recommend giving this restaurant a chance when craving Mexican food.

Pros: Very good authentic Mexican food Mexican beer and cocktails Close to marina Friendly wait staff Good atmosphere Cons: Very small restaurant-reservations recommended They often time their dishes poorly. IE: bring out entree while you are still in the middle of the appetizer, or serve one guest while the others are waiting for there for for a few more minutes Overall: One of the best restaurants in cold lake. We love this place.

So delicious. By far the best food in town. My favourite is the fish tacos or chicken taco salad. They make their own dressing and bottle it. I've spent a small fortune buying this bottled goodness and putting it on literally everything at home. I'm so happy we have this amazing little restaurant in our town.

Ridiculously overpriced! A total waste of money. I think two stars is pretty generous. I had the burrito my wife had the enchiladas. Despite the $20 price tag per plate both meals were very skimpy. My burrito, as small as it was, was absolutely chock full of rice. What little meat there was was gristly. They couldn't even put out some nachos and salsa to munch on while we waited for our order. It would cost less than a dollar per customer but it would at least take a little of the sting out of the price tag. Service was fine. The waitress was pleasant. The ambiance was OK but it's not like you were overlooking the lake or anything which might justify a higher price tag. All in all I would rate the meal as awful.
