The microscopic citroën dyane that climbs from aosta to cogne at the end of the years with four boys on board, ski on the roof and bags in the trunk, towards the march of the great paradise. a great noisy place for the noise that the aspiring heroes of the kilometers in the park were trying to guess the Sunday time not to miss a wagon that had to “hold” on the climbs of valnontey and valeille. a simple pension suitable for the pockets of those young “campions” but in which the courtesy of the owners did not miss even for them, certainly too noisy and intrusive. these flashbacks of a time for many years now come back punctually in mind while I within the beautiful restaurant of the current madonnina, sure to have a great dinner prepared with care and imagination by the young chef matteo corradi, under the wise direction of victorious jantet, impeccable room manager, and with the exquisite courtesy of shaton belley that, from its arrival in this excellent hotel takes us five years ago. those who believe that the hotel's restaurant is something less than the traditional one, will have to re-believe widely in front of the menu of the madonnina, integrated every day by special offers in which the traditional flavors of the valley of the hostage are enriched by new and imaginative solutions that never distort the original goto. and finally it is impossible not to appreciate the intelligent and uncommon choice of the structure, the Chillod-Limana family, to offer the guests of the hotel the same menu offered to the visitors of the restaurant alone. a refined table but from the friendly and graceful accueil that I, cognein of adoption for years, frequent regularly during my stay without disappointment, but with some regret for that dyane that was overloaded, memory of my youth.
A fantastic hotel in cogne just at the rande of the village, but just a few minutes walk away. fantastic view from the room and very well furnished. the restaurant was a complete and unexpected surprise the quality of eating and service was exceptional....We were for five nights and had thought that we could taste different restaurants in cogne, but at the end could not be convinced that we would find better eating somewhere. we do not eat meat, but the menu was diverse enough to never disappoint, or repeat (if she really wanted a family-run hotel, which obviously prides itself on maintaining high standards. great and highly recommended.
During the stay in la madonnina, eaten two times. the menu is a very interesting mix of authentic Aosta cuisine and refined international cuisine. very beautiful and cheap weinliste also!
