Cibo Fresco - Clonmel

I enjoy discovering new restaurants, as dining out is a rare treat for me. After reading mostly positive reviews about this place, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the most disappointing food experiences I've ever had. The meals tasted like poorly reheated microwave dinners, lacking any charm. The sauce was too salty, and the spaghetti was both mushy in the middle and hard on the edges. The drinks were only vaguely chilled, as if they hadn't been in the fridge long enough. My wife ordered the chicken alfredo, and I had a prawn dish (I can't remember the name). Needless to say, we skipped dessert. The decor and ambiance were unimpressive. The only positive thing I can say is that about an hour after the meal, I was able to get rid of everything I ate, albeit in a very uncomfortable manner. This place is more of a cafe than a restaurant, and based on my experience, it wouldn't survive on the side of the road. Would I recommend it to anyone? No, not unless they make significant improvements.

I discovered Cibo while passing through town and noticed it was busy, so I decided to go back and check out the menu. The food looked appealing so I decided to dine there. The food was delicious and offered at a reasonable price. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was very clean and luckily, there were no patrons smoking outside, which is always a pet peeve of mine. Keep up the great work!

Well worth a visit , have been a few times and same result always , great home cooked flavour , not overpriced .

Carbonara made with cream! Menu reads ok for a toasted sandwich, chips and side salad. Don 't go there expecting good Italian food with a depth of flavour. Chicken wings were reheated in the microwave and were like bullets, the 'homemade authentic napoli tomato sauce ' tasted like tin tomatoes and a whole lot of oregano. Guy serving was friendly. Left food uneaten, paid and left. Avoid.
