Lack-luster and not recommended for gluten-free folks. Ordered the fisherman’s platter and the seafood boil which were middling. The seafood itself was okay but no better than places in this area. The sides and care for food allergies was extremely lacking.Mentioned I am gluten-free and the server acknowledged that she would note it to the kitchen. She swung by to served the molasses bread to my Fiancé and mentioned that I could not eat it. Kind of annoying but I get not wanting me to assume it was GF. I mentioned it smelled good but was assured it wasn’t tasty, apparently center was doughy and not fully cooked. If you pressed the center it would stay compressed. When the meal is served my side was missing and my meal had two crummy pieces of garlic bread on top. I removed the bread and de-crumbed the plate.I then asked for my veggie side and was told it needed to be made. I was nearly finished when the saddest cup of wilted overcooked green beans appeared. I tried the corn in the boil and it too was over cooked and mealy.I ordered a drink and the lemonade tasted overly sweet and kind of gritty.Long story short, it was the most disappointing meals I had in Clearwater.I didn’t complain because the thought of the “make it right” conversation was exhausting. If you don’t have food sensitivities it would probably have seemed fine. That said, for the money there are much better places to eat.
Went to cooters for happy hour, today! Bar busy. Tim the bartender was awesome , maybe one of 100 that actually knows how to bartend. There is a little space without a chair at bar. I stand there. Tim asked my what I want. In the mean time , mike the drunken owner walks by me. I say , hi boss! He walks over to a extra barstool against the wall, picks it up and sets it down in the little space. I’m ready to say thank you sir and he sits in the chair himself. Nice owner. I should have taken him out of his drunken misery with one shot. I stand for another 10 minutes as he talks jibberish to his lifers. It gets better. My brother calls says he is going to hooters, I say come here instead. I reserve a table for 8. Maybe only three tables occupied at the time. Frnchys next door a line out door, side note. My brother gets there with only half my family, place is empty, they won’t let them sit and drink. We can get back to this. I go out and get them André seat my self at our table with them. Waitress comes over and says we cannot serve u until your whole party is there. Owner drunk at bar and does not give a rats ass about tourists. They ask us to sit at bar and drink which is now almost empty like the rest of his dirty disgusting place. We leave. He let a 300$ table leave. I advise lol, never go to this hole. Did u work there, quit, go to any of the other at least 100 places to work! And on the way out the door, give the owner the Italian salute. True
The food and drinks tasted great! but we were slightly shocked when we got done because it was expensive. Guess we didn't read the prices on the menus very well LOL
Excellent food and service just off the main street! Cooter's is located across the ICW from the Freedom Boat Club of Clearwater. We stopped in for a quick snack, and we were not disappointed. The menu features tons of local sea food and more. We tried the blackened alligator bites, which were awesome. Timothy was a great server who seemed to know everyone. I will also add that the Cooter's menu prices are significantly lower than some of the other places one block over. It was worth the walk for such great food!!!
