$74.59 (fish (fluke) 'n chips, spinach sausage meatloaf, stella artois, cafe latte w/ oatmilk, fig morello cherry galette) monologue: If I could have recorded all the mmm 's and yessss ' and omg 's onto a record, I would call the album We are going to Murphy 's, again! My venture, into Murphy 's, on a Monday evening, was happenstance. The plan was to take my mother out for dinner some place on Highland Ave. So we drove around, finally parked, and began walking on Highland. We saw a tent and thought, what 's that place? . First thought/impression was this is a cute spot for coffee, pastry and/or wine. After talking to the host, that 's when I realized this place was a restaurant for brunch, lunch and dinner, too! Let 's eat... We were seated in the covered patio area (star 1, option to eat outside ish), they turned on the heat, upon request (star 2, thank you for making it cozy) and the waiter, Riley, was a pure treat since the first hello. What a dynamic personality! (star 3-5). After Riley shared the specials of the day, we ordered the above stated items throughout our experience (star 6-10). Everything we consumed was kudos to the Chef!!! Ya know, meatloaf has a bad reputation. But I took a chance and what went into my mouth, with the sauce, creamy mashed potatoes and made to perfection green beans made me want to hire the chef to cook my meals weekly. And, meh, fish 'n chips, how could this possibly not taste like the dish you get from your local neighborhood pub. Ummmm, yeahhhh. Chef, what deliciousness did you put in that batter and how 'd you make it so crunchy?! The Chef even decided to compliment it with well seasoned natural cut fries. And as I think about the Pastry Chef, who I think has a Ph.D. in food chemistry, her creation was what? A light, buttery, very attractive, unique concoction of this is what Monday night should look like pastry...yeah, we cleared our plates! I made sure to ask Riley to please pass on our tremendous amount of pleasure. He did! I 'll be back. There are so many other savory and sweet things to enjoy. P.s. The cute, little, non intrusive lamps on the tables, with 2 mood settings, will give you just the right amount of light to admire your food or your date (insert wink emoji here).
We came here for breakfast one day to celebrate my coworker's birthday, and it was nice! We were seated in the covered patio area which was cute, there was a little bit of a yellow tint to everything because of the covering so that's why the pics look the way they do.Our server was really nice, she recommended dishes to us (one of my coworkers and I elected to both get the special steak and eggs), and also replaced my mimosa when a little fly/bug fell into it. The little blueberry muffins they brought out in the beginning were buttery, and even though I thought the steak was a little over cooked, it still tasted good! My other coworker said the omelet he got was decent, also I tried the grits he ordered and thought it was really well made. At the end they brought out a small little birthday cheesecake which was a nice touch!
Didn't expect this place to be as amazing as it was, but it was quite the breakfast!First off, there is so much room on the inside, even though from the outside, the restaurant looks deceivingly small. Very spacious and very clean. Parking is either street parking nearby in front of the homes, which is the usual case for the area, and I believe there is valet for about $3.Food was incredibly fresh, starting from the biscuits and jam that were complementary all the way to the main entrée and the sides that my friend and I ordered. Also had a huge portions, so there was plenty for us to take home if we wanted. Service was top-notch. Our server was extremely kind and attentive, guided us through the menu, and was patient with us when we were being really slow at selecting what we wanted. Will definitely be coming back and trying other options on the menu!
Such a classic piece of Atlanta dining. We had a great time and the Brisket is fantastic. Jessica was a delight, as well. Thanks again.
