This restaurant will catch your attention from the street with its large and attractive sign. When you walk inside, you will be embraced by a rustic space that creates a comforting and homey atmosphere. My party of 16 came in about an hour before close, so there was only one server at the time. She was very kind and got the food to us as quickly as possible. The whole facility, including the restrooms, was super clean. They offered a vast selection of southern-style cooking, including fried chicken, soup beans, meatloaf, fried pickles, and green tomatoes.
If there's any place one would want to sit down and enjoy southern food, they may want to stop at R&B Country Kitchen. This pleasant restaurant located in Clay City was where I had the pleasure to try fried green tomatoes for the first time, and I was not disappointed. The polished finish of the walls, floor and dining area gave me a strong, old-fashioned country vibe that accompanied my delicious meal. The atmosphere was suitable for many laughs and conversations I shared with my colleagues as we dined. The server was very kind and quick when she took our orders. Even though it was short staffed that evening, my group received our orders quickly and with amazing service. Overall, this was a pleasurable experience, and I would like to return in the future.
My husband and I made a weekend at Natural Bridge and wanted to eat home-cooked food instead of a McDonald's. This establishment has 2 signs. We entered the door with the biggest sign and inside was a bar. We thought we were in the wrong place however there is a connecting door to the restaurant. I ordered the special of the day which was meatloaf, and chose green beans, cornbread, strawberry pretzel salad, a roll and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. The meatloaf tasted just like my mother's and it was wonderful. Actually everything was except the green beans tasted canned and the cornbread made into a pancake. Everything else was great. It was clear that the restaurant is favorited by locals who sometimes visit friends or have informal meetings. It definitely is the town place to be to feel welcome. Patrons could sit for hours and feel at home just tip the waitresses good and keep the kitchen flowing with orders!
Fantastic food and even better people. The yellow cake is just like my grandmother made years ago. The little bar on the side is a hidden gem. Friendly people and a little country music. So much fun.
