Miss Marie's Diner - Clay Center

We eat here at least 2 times a week. The staff is always friendly and we love the food. Sometimes they have some hiccups because some of the staff are just learning. I had a brisket burger today and it is wonderful. heaven on a bun.

Miss Marie's is a family friendly place to eat some of the family favorites from earlier yrs. Chicken fried steak sandwich was good, also Cowboy burger was good. Plenty to eat and reasonable prices.

This place is a disaster and the food is not worth it after having to struggle through such terrible service. The server I had didn 't even know what was on the menu when I asked questions. Instead of asking someone or looking at the menu with me, she simply said I don 't know with a snarky attitude. There 's not many places to eat in Clay Center, but this one is definitely not worth it.

Clay Center has a very limited selection when it comes to places to go out to eat, so I really wanted to like this place and hoped that they would be greatly successful. But after 3-4 try's, I have to say I'm not planning to eat here again. I placed a to-go order which included a grilled chicken sandwich with regular fries and a side of ranch. The other meal that was ordered was also requested with a side of ranch. I received cold crinkle cut fries (I specifically requested regular fries). No mayonnaise came with my sandwich, which it stated on the menu that it came with, so I didn't feel I needed to ask for it. Neither of our meals came with the ranch we requested and my bun was sopping wet. We didn't even get napkins or utensils. Mind you, this order was picked up in 15 minutes which is how long they would take to make our food, so it's not like it had a chance to sit there getting cold and soggy. I will say that the chicken was cooked perfectly, but unfortunately that is not enough for me to go back. Hopefully these types of issues can be corrected so that this business can succeed. I truly wish them well, it's just not for me.

Every visit except the most recent one has been a wonderful experience overall. Although my last visit was quite disappointing, I think it was just a one-time occurrence, and I plan to return and give it another shot.
