Shoney's - Clanton

I spotted the sign about 10 miles before reaching the exit, which really built up my appetite and nostalgia. The restaurant looked just as I remembered it, the staff were friendly, and the food was excellent. They only offered a buffet, but who could complain? The breakfast buffet was very well-maintained, and the attentive waitstaff ensured everyone's drinks were always filled. If you’ve never experienced Shioney, you’re truly missing out—it’s consistently great!

I enjoyed my experience at Shoney's and really wish there were more locations nearby. I visited on Sunday around 1:30 PM, and due to staffing issues, only the buffet was available. The salad bar and catfish were fantastic. I also tried the fried chicken, which was decent, but it had a flavor that suggested the cooking oil might need to be changed. The service was excellent! Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a great experience at the breakfast bar, which offered a wide variety of dishes at a reasonable price. Everything my husband and I tried was freshly made and perfectly cooked. Our waitress was attentive and friendly, ensuring our coffee was always topped up. Both the restaurant and the restrooms were clean. We also noted that the health department rated the establishment a score of 99 on the day of our visit.

I ate this morning. There were signs at the door that everything they offer was a lunch buffet due to lack of personnel. I appreciate it before I went in. I was impressed by the decision to do that to keep those who need their job. The staff we were interacting with was very polite, friendly. Excellent service excellent food. Very clean, well maintained buffet.

Loved it went with my family for Father's Day. There was no special thing there for Father's Day just regular buffet. For family of 6 which we had 4 adults but my 15 year old sister was counted as an adult too and my little brother was just regular with his age.Our meal was like $85 for the 6 of us. You pay at the end of your meal not before.There was not a part I really hated about the restaurant. They did have wait times but it wasn't that long. They have a little gift shop corner in the front of the restaurant. The waitress was very sweet nice she was smooth with fill back up our drinks especially with the tea. The food was good. There was a little girl she looked like 6 or 7 and she was making her own plate and ended up wasting her whole plate. I feel like someone should just been there monitoring her for her family. I know she could be independent but someone still needed to be there or at least make her plate for her (All kids). But I love how there were 2 different race I saw just humans that helped her and told her it was ok. That makes me so happy that one guy told her don't pal everything in one plate she could come back. Then the other guy saw she was looking sad and he said you're okay it's okay. Then after away like I think 10 or 11AM they started bringing lunch out and put breakfast on one side of the buffet.
