Controversial opinion, but better than Levain! I love a classic choc chip or choc walnut. My husband loves the double choc. I always tell myself I'll eat half and save half for later but I never do lol they're so good I just eat the whole damn thing.
I’ve had their banana pudding thrice, the most recent purchase from today. they must’ve tweaked their recipe because i was pleasantly surprised to find that the pudding was no longer a whipped cream consistency, thank god. now it is a cream consistency, but doesn’t resemble pudding just yet. i appreciate the generous use of wafers and bananas, but all three times i have gotten brown bananas in my pudding. i know all bakeries abide by fifo, but i would like to have fresher bananas for a $6 pudding.
The best way to describe the cookies here are reminiscent of Levain but with a slightly different texture. They are similarly massive but the inside is softer and the outside is more crispy and one flavor (Chocolate Chip Walnut) is by far the best. Nice amount of both ingredients and pretty well balanced. By comparison, the Caramel Pecan is too sweet, the Matcha is too light and is overpowered by the white chocolate, and the Oatmeal Raisin is alright. I haven't tried the Dark Chocolate (I didn't realize it had almonds) and that will be the next one. I haven't tried their cheesecake but the Banana Pudding is alright. Available in a variety of flavors, they are a bit soft (just like the cookie middle) reminding me a bit of a certain other famous shop. 2/3 for most of the cookies though a low 4 for the chocolate walnut. A bit hard to rate. Mid 3 and worth it for 4 bucks for the size.
I absolutely love this place! Please open a location in Manhattan—I would visit all the time!
