Chikarashi - City of New York

I liked the food very much ! I was actually very surprised and was not expecting such a gourmet meal (look at the picture). Fresh and delicious ! The space is not very big but has tables and chairs along the way. It was not crowded and right on CanalStreet. They have ice creams and specials? I want to go back for their watermelon sorbet. Now, I was not fully convinced by theservice. I don?t want to go to much into details, I just hope it was because the lady who took my order was having a bad day(which happens) but she was almost rude? Curt.

I ordered the Roasted Black Cod. The fish was fresh tasting, had a slight caramelized char on top from roasting, was perfectly cooked and fell apart as I dug in. The cod had a slight sweet taste and balance of savory flavor which was enjoyable. The dishwas well presented and they played jazz on the space. Overall it was a great experience

My wife, daughter and I are Disney fans. Living in New York City we were missing the pineapple treat Dole Whips that are served in Disney World. I read on Yelp that this place had them, so the family went and tried for ourselves. We weren't disappointed. They tasted exactly the same as they had in Adventureland right by Aladdin's Magic Carpet ride. We'll be going back again and again whenever we feel the need for one of our favorite desserts.

There's no other poke place in NYC that serve high quality food besides Chikarashi. Love the Sichuan Chilli salmon poke bowl, its so fresh and delicious! Highly recommended!

Food was amazing, but a bit pricey. Very good nonetheless.
