フィードバックを提供するMy partner and I decided to treat ourselves to afternoon tea today, and it was absolutely fantastic! The sandwiches were delicious and generously filled. I requested to have no cucumber sandwiches, and Clare kindly added more of the other varieties. The Victoria sponge, cupcakes, and scones were all mouthwatering, and the freshly brewed tea was the perfect accompaniment. We also had the option to have the afternoon tea delivered to our home during lockdown, which was a great alternative. Well done Clare, we will definitely be back soon!
I highly recommend the afternoon tea delivery service. From beginning to end, the communication was excellent and the food was incredibly delicious!
I had a fantastic afternoon tea at this restaurant yesterday to celebrate a birthday. The portions of homemade sandwiches and cakes were very generous and I thought they were great value for the money. They accommodated dietary restrictions such as gluten-free and vegan very well. I was blown away by how delicious the gluten-free Victoria sponge was - I had no idea it was gluten-free. The restaurant is soon moving to Merton Abbey Mills, and I believe they will achieve great success there.
Just popped in for a cup of tea and a bun to find a wonderful selection of Clair’s new line of vegan, gluten free homemade cakes and buns available. I opted a tea cake which was delicious. I also learned that the Willow Bough Tea Rooms will be moving to Merton Abbey Mills sometime in May. I will see you there.
The Willow Bough is situated on Watery Lane facing The Rush, adjacent to the Nelson Hospital SW19 and on the opposite side of Kingston Road to the Leather Bottle pub. It is a traditional tea room and caterer which serve a traditional breakfast to order, lunch and of course tea with homemade cakes including gluten-free and sugar-free. There is also usually a selection of handmade gifts and cards made by local artists available for sale. It has a very child friendly and accommodating atmosphere with something artistic going on or in preparation almost all the time where nothing is too much trouble. This is a comparatively small place which can get a bit crowded and parking locally can be difficult but it is certainly the place to visit if what you are after is a superb cup of tea of freshly made coffee and cake. There are other places nearby that do tea and coffee with food but I know where I would rather be and thoroughly recommend the Willow Bough for real homemade cooking.
