During our meet up with friends near Oxford Street in London, we decided to try this Thai restaurant after finding it online. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly. We highly recommend giving it a try as you will not be disappointed. The restaurant was very clean and had a relaxing atmosphere.
We booked a table at Patara for a meal before a pantomime. The restaurant looked beautiful from the outside and we could smell the delicious food as soon as we walked in. The service was excellent, with friendly and helpful staff. There was a wide variety of options on the menu, making it easy to order, and our food arrived promptly. Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. I would highly recommend Patara to anyone visiting this area of London. Thank you.
Brilliant, lovely menu and friendly atmosphere and staff. The best food, mic sesame oil, chilli, honey, soy sauce, ginger, garlic and lime sea bass, tasty! The staff is that woman (Cleo) who helped me is really nice.
We had relatives visiting from overseas who like upmarket restaurants and spicy food, so Patara seemed a good choice in a convenient location. Unfortunately, the meal did not live up to expectations. The decor was nice, and service was sweet and professional at all times, but the food was somewhat disappointing. We started with a couple of different tom yum soups, beef salad, and som tum. The soups and the papaya salad were a bit bland, the beef was far too chewy, and the soup had far too much 'stuff ' in it, presumably to divert from the insipid broth. For mains we had a red vegetable curry, minced chicken stir-fry, mixed veg and garlic prawns, all accompanied by lots of rice. The best dish were the prawns which were plump and juicy, and tasted nice and fresh with just the right amount of garlic and chili. The other dishes were mediocre at best, and even the presentation was not what I had hoped for at this restaurant. My sister-in-law who is an aficionado of Patara 's Singapore branch just couldn 't believe the difference in quality. There was one consolation however: the mango sticky rice for dessert was delightful and yummy, and enjoyed by all. Considering that this is quite an expensive restaurant, I 'd think twice before going again. My favourite Thai restaurant in North London produces far superior food at a much cheaper price!
