Absolutely fantastic pub! The memorabilia is amazing! Can’t wait to go back to London visit again. Definitely in my top 5 of amazing pubs!
I. The decor is genuinely different. At the first floor coaster all around, some panels and also a nutcracker The second floor one corner old books, another part photos at 60s. Then also old magazines. Really entertaining. Mine criticism it is too the waiter. We were a big group, I was the only one that order wine. The wine was tasting like vinegar. I went to complain and she was adamant that she couldn’t give me a new one. That was the house wine . It wasn’t by the price but the taste was horrible. A guy in the bar even tried my wine and said the same. I said it was bad and the waiter got offended. Any other pub would give me a new wine without charging me and this one didn’t.
During my visit to London from Nova Scotia, Canada, I stayed in a building adjacent to the Edgar Wallace the week of September 18th. One evening around 9:30pm, I popped into the pub to see if their kitchen was still open. A friendly gentleman informed me that it was not, but asked what I would like to eat and said they could possibly prepare something for me. I was touched by his kindness. It turns out he and his wife are the owners of the pub. I ended up sitting with them for a pint and had a lovely conversation about Nova Scotia and London. I was happy to have met them and always exchanged greetings with them throughout the week. The pub was consistently busy during lunchtime and after work hours. Though I did not catch their names, this encounter left me with a fond memory of London. On my last evening, I enjoyed a few pints and chatted with some of the regulars. Cheers to my new friends at the Edgar Wallace! Thank you for providing me with a warm and welcoming experience in your corner of London.
I really enjoyed this pub. It has a lot of charm, a great atmosphere, and the staff are very welcoming. They offer a good variety of ales. The location is fantastic, being near The Strand, Fleet Street, and Somerset House. Although my visit was short, I plan to return to spend more time there.
