I was surprised to find that Roti Canai was served on plastic plates and eaten with plastic forks, with the curry in small plastic containers. The portion size was smaller than previous visits, which was disappointing and affected my appetite. The roti canai was lukewarm to the touch, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was small and quiet.
It's really rich and mahal. Lunch for 3 , cost about $80, but the food came to take away plastic containers and we have to eat with plastic forks and spoons. The curry is cold and small, but the price is ridiculous. I would recommend to everyone to eat there unless they have their game. The service is bad as most of him is self-service.
I ordered Plain Naan for takeout. When I got home and opened the package, the Naan was only hot. However, the Naan was very dense and rubbery, and did not appear fresh. It was so tough that it felt like our teeth might break. I called the restaurant to ask why they served us stale food. The woman on the phone said she was not the manager and that they had never received complaints about the Naan before. I offered to bring the Naan back so they could see it for themselves and potentially provide a refund. They informed me that they do not offer refunds and that the manager would call me later, but I never received a call.
When a restaurant boasts Indian, Sri Lankan, Malaysion and Singaporean meals you would be forgiven for being sceptical but we gave it a try and loved it. Placing the order by phone was easy. We ordered Onion Bhaji, Malaysian Curry Puffs (2 chicken and 2...beef), Pakoras, Beef Vindaloo, Fish Curry and special fried rice. The meal was ready for pick up on time but delivery is also available. The Bhaji were tasty and juicy, the curry puffs were perfect the pakoras were a bit overcooked but still tasty. My very tasty vindaloo was full of large chunks of beef. The chilli level was quite low but you don 't really know what to ask for first time net time i might ask for extra heat. The special fried rice had large prawns in it and added another dimension to the Vindaloo. The fish curry had large pieces of fish and nice according to my wife. The serves were big so big we are eating leftovers for lunch so we got 2 meals for the price of 1. This may have been the first time we have tried Rich Mahal but it won 't be the last well done folks.
