The chef/waitress was spicier than the food she made and served.

Star’s Cafe is the quintessential hometown place where locals gather and warm hearted joking abounds. The food is classic diner menu, all perfectly prepared and arriving hot with generous portions. The surprise menu item is the homemade soups and they are phenomenal!!!! Tomato and spinach with tortellini was outstanding and paired well with the three cheese grilled cheese. It is surprising that they can serve the quality and quantity of food for incredibly reasonable prices. It is an easy on/off the NY Thruway and well worth the stop. This hidden gem of upstate NY is not to be missed.

Absolutely terrible service. Waited 20 minutes for the waitress to come over and be so rude, write none of the orders down while she rolls eyes and gives attitude over asking what’s on the turkey club and making sure the breakfast sandwich had egg’s on it. Decided the attitude wasn’t worth the time and tip I would feel obligated to give. Will never return and no idea how they have such high reviews which was the only reason we drove 30 minutes out for it.

My husband and are friends had lunch here and the food was amazing and you can’t beat their prices.Their was a very nasty customer who came in with a horrible attitude and was so rude to the lady who was cooking we all felt so bad. People should have more respect for the people who serve you as you don’t understand the kind of pressure they are under!! But on another note we absolutely loved the place the people and food and will definitely be going back again when we are in the area!!

Excellent food with friendly staff and customers. Easy on/off from the NYS Thruway (I90). The homemade soup was outstanding as was our grilled cheese sandwiches and cheeseburger. I am looking forward to returning!
