The red hot habenero masago is AMAZING!!! Our bill was $110 for the 3 of us, but we ordered a ton of food and sashimi platter as one of our appetizers . The sashimi was nice think cuts, well worth the cost. The quality was great. We will go again.
I gotta say, this place was much better than Bento Box Midtown! The pricing is 'comparable ' I mean if rolls are ALWAYS 50%OFF, then why not just put the discounted price on the menu?? Idk ijs
The good: The tempura was well made. Often, tempura is soggy and greasy, but these were done well. It seems their thing is tempura asparagus which was enjoyable. The rolls were not so cheap but were also half off, so they were brought down to fairly budget rolls. The ginger was tasty and plentifulThe bad: The menu was boring. The main ingredients of the rolls were simply swapping around ten or so basic ingredients. Lots of fake crab and cream cheese rolls. Customer service was very poor. When we walked in, the guy at the front desk didn 't acknowledge us for at least a minute while he was chit chatting with his friend about video games or movies or some other silly thing. And his friend was standing right where the customers were supposed to be. Never even batted an eye at us. The main waitress we had wasn 't that bad, but she did have a bit of a plain/low energy attitude. Made us feel like we were a burden on the business. They did ask us regularly if we were ready to order or if we wanted appetizers/drinks, but it also seemed the goal was only to upsell us or to get us in and out of there quickly. When we got the bill, the guy who gave it to us was talking on his cell phone to another customer. When we left, the front desk employees didn 't even say Thanks for coming! Have a good night! or anything similar. Two of the four rolls we ordered were drowning in sodium. Two of the four rolls were rolls without rice. I 've never had a roll like that before, so we got them. Bad idea. They were falling apart and texturally very squishy. Maybe another place would do that style better. The food was made a little bit slowly. The best of the four rolls was the Danger roll which was at a further reduced price. Well, it had a spoiled aftertaste, so I 'm pretty sure the fish being old was why they 're trying to get rid of it. Nothing there tasted fresh. Sushi should make you feel good afterward because of its freshness and vibrance, but this felt like eating leftovers. We ordered two rolls for my wife and two rolls for me, but I 'm 80% sure one of the rolls I got was hers and one of the ones she got was mine. I specifically didn 't order a spicy roll and my wife ordered one spicy roll, but somehow, I was the one who ended up with the only roll that had a little heat. We had always intended to share our plates, so it wasn 't an issue, but it was odd.
Probably the worst sushi place I've been to in the area; way too much cream cheese and all of the rolls were basically the same combination of ingredients. They use asparagus a lot which is nice but doesn't compensate for the very poor service (slow despite not many people seated, servers were on their phones while bringing things to the table and didn't make eye contact). The redheaded waitress gave the wrong rolls to whoever ordered them, which is fine, but she also had a poor attitude and took her time seating us and other patrons. Overall felt like our presence was a burden to the staff. Also, my husband got the runs from one of his rolls. Since it was on the board I'm assuming they were trying to push fish that was going bad. Overall the ambience was okay, music wasn't too loud. Chairs are in fairly poor condition.
