Il Sedano Allegro - Cinzano

My wife and I had planned to visit Il Sedano Allegro during our week in The Turin area, but since she became ill, I visited alone. The two person staff did their best to make me feel comfortable as the only solo diner on a lively Friday night. The menu is not printed; it evidently changes daily, and your server describes in detail) all the dishes. Since my Italian is limited, and the staff spoke almost no English, we had some challenges in translating all of the descriptions. However, it was a fun experience. The local wine there was some wine from Cinzano itself, but I chose a bottle from nearby Castelnuovo Don Bosco), was excellent, and all the dishes were very artfully prepared. The appetizer, which treated eggplant and other vegetables in six ways, was a wonderful medley of flavors. Angleotti filled with figs and served with pancetta was a delightful combination. Serving an apple tartin with calvados gelato was an inspired combination. Wonderful on all counts.

Dined here as part of a European tour...don't know how the tour company found it as it is quite a drive out of Turin, but definitely worth the visit. The atmosphere was great...not a lot of English spoken as mentioned in other reviews but it is in rural Italy so what do people expect. Food was amazing...generous servings, great flavours and everything cooked to perfection. The staff were exceptionally friendly...the hostess welcomed us like long lost family and it was like we were dining in her own home. I would recommend anyone staying in Turin for a few days visit Il Sedano Allegro and sample the fantastic local cuisine.

We had s wonderful lunch here. Local cuisine in a family like setting! I had vegetable flan, tortellini with Gorgonzola and tarte tartine! The Vintner for the wine we drank a woman was at the next table with her family! What fun!

We visited this castle as an optional excursion on our Cosmos tour. The food, wine and ambience was divine. The food was excellent and the hospitality given by this family was warm and delightful. A wonderful experience which we will treasure for years

Authentic Italian food, with a perfect blend of seasoning. Service at the table and front desk was superb.
