Izzy's Elm Street - Cincinnati

Clean, quick, and welcoming service. The location is fantastic with plenty of street parking available nearby. The friendly staff provides excellent service with a smile, and the food is always fresh and hot. We absolutely love this place and can’t wait to come back. I had a Reuben sandwich, a pastrami sandwich, their famous potato pancakes, a side of pickles, and enjoyed delicious cheesecakes and carrot cake for dessert. Everything was delightful!

A very nice, straightforward spot for a quick meal, open until 8 PM. I tried the beef soup, and it was absolutely delicious. Thank you!

I haven't dined at Izzy's in over forty years. Back then, Izzy was still in charge of the restaurant, which was a tiny spot across from the Rat House. The space had very few tables, and once diners finished their meals, they were expected to leave to make room for others. The food was absolutely delicious. Fast forward to today.

Very friendly and helpful. eat well. I had a pastrami reuben and wanted another. the texture of the Bretzel-Hallen complements the great aromen.

When in Cincinnati on a Friday we have the matzo ball soup. Izzy's has been a family tradition for years, so much so that we usually skip trying new places when we're downtown. It's nothing fancy but they are always hustling and bustling with customers and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. If you want the matzo ball soup you really do need to go on a Friday though. It's not offered other days of the week.
