El Potrillo - Church Hill

I love their food. It is like real Mexican food--not the Americanized versions. Many locals like the hot Tex-Mex food. Having traveled in Mexico, I do prefer the real thing. The service is good, fast, and friendly. It is an older building that is not fancy and being in Church Hill (no liquor by the drink laws) it does not serve alcohol. If you are looking for a good meal and go on home this is a great place. I wish they had an online menu for the days (like today) that I want to order carry out and go on home.

The food here is excellent and the prices are very reasonable. The staff is incredibly friendly. Yum! I absolutely love this place. If you enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine, you will definitely appreciate this restaurant.

I will never eat here again. We usually dine here at least once a week and always order the same thing. However, there was a mix-up with our order due to the lady taking the phone order not having very good English. When we went to pick it up, the cost was $10 more than usual. We tried to explain our order to the owner, but he wouldn't refund the extra amount we were charged. He processed the payment before we could point out the discrepancy. My husband noticed the additional charge when we received the receipt. The manager insisted they couldn't refund us, and he wouldn't even let me explain the situation, stating that there was no way to issue a refund. This is simply not fair. I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. People should treat others how they wish to be treated, and it seems that the owner has forgotten this principle.
