Went quickly for coffee beans. Service and orientation about coffee roasting 10/10 Will come back soon!
Too tired from exploring to wander far from our AirBnB, we found that most eating spots in our neighborhood are closed in the evenings and chose Estacion 74 by default. This turned out not to be a problem, as the food menu, while limited, features something for everyone (except perhaps those on a keto diet). We all tried something different, and all the choices were excellent. Unfortunately, they left no room for dessert, so we will have to go back at another time to sample the carrot cake, brownies, and obviously-calorie-laden holiday drink specialties. Having missed lunch, we arrived just after they reopened at 6 PM, which turned out to be a good thing. By the time we finished our meal, there were people waiting to get in, seemingly all locals. The cafe is tiny, so the claustrophobic may want to order take-out.
I freely admit to being a coffee snob, coming from a city that lives on its coffee (Melbourne, Australia). This was the very best latte I have had in Mexico. A large cup, smooth but strong, perfect temperature. It was accompanied by a crepe with caramelized banana that was super delicious. The staff were all wonderful friendly, excellent service. By Merida standards, the meal was cheap. Cafes in the city that are nowhere near the standard of Estacion 74 charge a lot, lot more. The shop also had nice artwork and high quality pottery and crafts for sale at reasona. I will be back with my husband who I know will love it too.
My favorite place for espresso excellent espresso in the city. they roasts beans to order if you call or text. visit to this place in Mérida
