Memelas Thai Bistro - Chula Vista

I visited this restaurant for the first time a few years ago, and I absolutely loved it. The service was excellent, the food was amazing, and everything was just fantastic. However, I've noticed that the quality has declined a bit recently. Instead of dining in and potentially waiting a long time, I’ve opted for takeout. Unfortunately, there have been a few instances where the food quality hasn’t met my expectations. I still enjoy going there, but it’s becoming increasingly difficult to persuade others to join me as the experience isn't as good anymore.

This restaurant offers exceptional and unique food, paired with excellent service. The decor is somewhat minimal but still quite acceptable. Personally, I'm not a fan of their signature dish, memelas, but there are plenty of amazing options from both Mexican and Thai cuisines that I truly enjoy. My personal favorites include the Smoked Marlin Quesataco, the fresh Spring Rolls, and the green curry. All the sauces, whether from the Mexican or Thai menu, seem to be homemade and taste fantastic, even when mixed with dishes from the other cuisine. The authenticity of the place is enhanced by the presence of both a Thai owner and a Mexican owner, both of whom are very friendly. We visit this restaurant quite frequently because it’s conveniently located just off the 805 at Bonita Rd, has plenty of parking, and offers reasonable prices.

I ordered the Thai platter, while my wife chose the nachos. This restaurant blends Thai and Mexican cuisine and also offers some fusion dishes on its menu. For the Thai options, there are a few noodle dishes available, but the emphasis is primarily on non-noodle items. The Mexican selections are quite simple, featuring classic choices like burritos and nachos. The guacamole, in particular, was a highlight and absolutely delicious.

My husband and I have dined here multiple times, and we've always had a wonderful experience. We've sampled a variety of dishes and would happily order each one again.
