Restaurante 1875 - Chorrillos

There are half a dozen or more restaurants in Regatas, but this is their flagship dining area. Food is fabulous. Have a Peruvian shrimp cocktail as a starter. Avocado, shrimp in a pink sauce. Great. The Korvina is wonderful as the soup style shrimps and rice. Fillies mignon steak excellent and a whole range of Peruvian specialties. Dessert contains some Peruvian specialties and a molten lava cake that served as a shame in the USA.

I'm sorry you have to be a member or a member to be invited to the Club de Regatas, a big club on the beach in Miraflores. This prestigious club was founded in 1875, therefore the name of its most formal restaurant. There are about a dozen at the club, including two fish restaurants and a Chinese restaurant. All are good. 1875 has quite elegance, but you don't have to wear a tie. The food is excellent and very traditional. Try the Peruvian style shrimp cocktail with avocados. You never go back to the US style. Fish and steaks also very good.

This is the formal restaurant at Regatas main location in Chorillos. It reminds me of a simpler version of Perroquet. Try the 18.7.5 signature cocktail. The carpaccio is quite good, maybe not quite as tasty as Danica's or Carnal's...but up there. Try the surf & turf, and don't forget the wine list...some good bottles available.
