Pizzeria Castagnacci - CHIOGGIA

It seems strange to write about somewhere where in the end I never tasted the end product ... however as the common denominator in all these reports mentions the waiting time it is maybe worth writing about it too, 11 people in front of me at 7.25pm on a quiet day in November.... 8 people infront of me at 8.15pm ... 50 minutes later. The constant coming and going of people seems to be a local scam to get served quicker and try as I may to get in on the act (I speak italian and am a friendly sort ....! I failed and in the end gave up. In that 45 minutes only 6 (albeit huge pizzas came out of the oven and were divvied up. By my reckoning I would have had to wait another 45 minutes to be served. However good, however 'different ' (though how a basic Margherita of tomato and mozzarella can be that different from others, I fail to see ... and you should know there is no choice whatsoever! however trendy a Pizzeria may be ... a wait of 1 1/2 hours for such a simple product is down to pure inefficiency ... nothing else. Sorry! I 've rated the food 'excellent ' to give it the benefit of the doubt.

Well trying to get some pizza here it's going to be a little bit tough for a Foreigner but if you have enough patience and endurance you are gonna be one lucky explorer! The location is small and crowded. You are going to be pushed and people will try to steal your place in line. A locals favourite for sure but it's worth a try. Try also the Castagnaccio, made with chestnut if they have some left. It's going to be hard to get it but you won't regret the wait. Good luck !!!

Non si può mangiare una pizza migliore di questa! Bellissima ma soprattutto facile da digerire anche se si mangia in gran quantità!

Mi piace o non mi piace. Per me è il migliore assoluto nella lista dei posti che visito sempre e l'atmosfera vintage fa parte della loro storia.

Mi dispiace per l'assenza di due tavolini che avrebbero permesso di godere della pizza calda e vivere l'atmosfera retro ma piacevole di questa eccellenza italiana buona.
