Old Town Pub - Chicago

KATE IS AMAZING! She definitely deserves a raise!!! She took such great care of us, provided fantastic recommendations, and kept us entertained with her fun personality! We ended up staying much longer than we planned for just one drink. (Okay, maybe it was five drinks!) The regulars were super laid-back and had even more suggestions for us (shoutout to Chris and Steve, love you guys!).

The drinks offered were not as advertised on the menu. The atmosphere was lackluster as well. Overall, not a great experience.

The service was excellent, but the drink selection could use some improvement. The ambiance has a slightly worn feel, but the overall atmosphere is enjoyable with a lovely crowd.

Is there a such thing as zero? My husband and I Walked in to not be greeted and had to ask twice How do we get seated and order? The hostess was talking so fast. We didn't understand her. We ask her to repeat herself. She was too busy entertaining 4 people at the bar. Other than that the place was empty. we sat down and waited 5 minutes noone brought us water or even acknowledged us. We got up and headed toward the bar and the hostess turned her back and kept talking to the 4 patrons at the bar. With that we kept moving out the door. Its 2023 Summer in Chicago not 1923 rural Alabama. I advise all African Americans to avoid this place. I am leaving this post as I stand outside. I dare the owner to run the security tape back and see how workers treat people that are costing you loss of revenue or maybe you condone this behavior.

I was looking for a dive bar for a quick drink. Went in and sat down at the bar. The place was not busy at all, plenty of open seats and tables.The bartender never once greeted me or asked me what I wanted to order. She was far too busy talking to some guy at the bar. She wouldn't even look at me when I looked at her to try and order. Basic customer service is not hard to ask for. If you work in the business of serving customers, you should be greeting people. I waited 10 minutes and left without word. Ridiculous.
