Honey Butter Fried Chicken - Chicago

Bumble had a dating event there so I called ahead. The only thing they really offered was a modified salad, and maybe some tofu. That's not enough to suggest that there's any real vegan options here (I did not go)

I asked if any sandwiches from the vegetarian section could be made vegan and was told the bun has egg wash and that there wasn’t any other bread. I ended up going for tofu strips. They weren’t super breaded or crispy more like fried in starch and spices type of strips. And they were really spicy. Definitely more for vegetarians than vegans.

I had a delicious OG Sandwich made vegan (with a different bun than on the menu) and my son had the Buffalo Sandwich made vegetarian. The tofu is battered and fried and is delicious. We were both very happy with our meals and so were our family members who got non-veg options.

Service was helpful and welcoming and explained the ordering options and process. The restaurant itself was small yet clean and managed to sit a lot of people inside. Food was good, but a bit over priced for the amount you get and some options werelimited. No options for french fries and I believe we were over charged for our Lemonade which was unfortunate because it isReally good Lemonade. Would suggest others giving it a try, if even just for the sake of trying it out.

Got a mini meal with chicken, kale salad, and a corn muffin with honey butter. tried some of the mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese of the table. Total 5 star. If it wasn?t for the amazing sides, fresh and approachable vibe, organized ordering, superblocation, and fresh ingredients then I would give 4 stars bc the chicken was juicy and tasty but not seasoned much. The saucesand everything on the side made it a better rating. Great price esp since they have progressive labor policies. Def recommendand make sure to get some sauces. Also the chicken sandwiches were delicious. Can?t wait to come back!
